We’re Founders Too.
AEP was built by people who have started businesses, run operations, managed payroll, and felt the weight of being responsible for someone else's livelihood. That experience shapes everything we do.
OUR FOUNDING
Why We Started AEP.
Atomus Equity Partners was founded on a simple observation: the lower market is full of exceptional businesses. These are companies built over decades by passionate, hardworking people that have never had access to the kind of resources and expertise that larger companies take for granted.
We saw two worlds that rarely talked to each other. On one side, talented operators running profitable, growing businesses with real staying power, but limited bandwidth to take the next step. On the other, an investment community that often approached these businesses as financial instruments rather than living organizations with cultures, histories, and people who depend on them.
We started AEP to be the bridge. Not to extract value from great businesses, but to unlock it. To bring institutional-grade resources, strategic planning, operational expertise, M&A execution, to companies that deserve them but have never had access to them. And to do it with genuine respect for what the founder built.
We focus on Home Services and Essential Services for a reason: these are businesses that exist in the real world. They serve real people, employ real workers, and solve problems that will never go away. That's the kind of business we want to build our firm around.
OUR COMMITMENT
We Promise This To Every Seller. We Mean It.
Selling a business is one of the most significant decisions a founder/operator will ever make. We take that seriously. These are not marketing promises. They are the standards we hold ourselves to in every partnership we enter.
Team Is Protected
1
The people who work for a seller are the business. We do not buy companies to cut costs and flip them. We invest in the team that the business was built on and work to make it stronger with better compensation structures, clearer career paths, and access to resources they've never had before.
Legacy Is Respected
2
The name on the side of the truck matters. The culture that was built over 20 years matters. We don't erase what works; we build on it. In most cases, the brand, the culture, and the community relationships that have been built stay intact.
Hands-On Collaboration
3
Some buyers disappear after the check clears. We don't. Our partnership continues through a thoughtful transition period, and we remain active, engaged partners long after the deal is done. Our investment depends on the business succeeding.
OUR VALUES
What We Believe.
These aren't words on a wall. They're the principles that shape how we show up for our partners, our portfolio companies, and each other.
Integrity
1
We say what we mean and mean what we say. In an industry that sometimes rewards complexity and opacity, we choose transparency. Sellers always know where they stand with us, even when the news isn't what they hoped to hear.
Curiousity
2
We approach every business with genuine curiosity, not just about the financials, but about the history, the people, the local market dynamics, and the things that make this particular business uniquely valuable. We're not afraid to ask questions, challenge assumptions, or explore paths that haven't been tried.
Loyalty
3
We are loyal to the founders who trust us with their life's work. We are loyal to the employees who depend on the businesses we acquire. We are loyal to the partners and investors who believe in our mission. Loyalty, for us, is black and white. There is no gray area.
Collaboration
4
We believe that the best outcomes come from working together, with founders, management teams, and employees, not from imposing a plan from above. Progress is only sustainable when it is built by many hands, and we approach every partnership with that belief at the center.
